This
symptom is a mystery to many in the medical community. It is a stress
related condition and is often related to other illnesses. Fibromyalgia
is listed as one of the many symptoms of Epstein Barr--often referred
to as a "stress virus". Some people, mostly but not always
women, really love using the Sacro Wedgy®. They've told us they
are not taking as many pain pills and are able to more easily control
symptoms, and it gives them a reason to relax.

Then
some with fibromyalgia hate the Sacro Wedgy® because they absolutely
cannot relax, and they can't handle any pressure whatsoever in the
sacral area and since this is where the Sacro Wedgy® goes, there
is no sense in these people even trying it. The main areas most
massage therapist concentrate on for those with fibromyalgia are
points in the hip (sacrum) and in the neck and shoulders. These
are the areas that the Sacro Wedgy® and neck support also pinpoint
so for the ones that can handle the initial pressure and discomfort
and are able to "give it up" and relax, you too could
have a "tool" to use to help relieve symptoms on a long
term basis.
Because
of the sensitivity in the sacrum or sacroiliac joint, we've found
most do better starting with the male version of the Sacro Wedgy®
because it is slightly narrower than the female version. Also, it
is better to use the Sacro Wedgy® cold (store in the freezer)
to help calm and cool the sacral area and the first 3 or 4 times
start with no elevation pad to get familiar with the feeling of
elevating the sacrum and relaxing at the same time. Of course we
would love for this to help everyone but common sense dictates that
this is impossible and highly unlikely. It is imperative that you
understand how the Sacro Wedgy® works then you will know if
it's for you.
